Candidates must fulfill the following requirements to participate in NEET PG counselling:
Must qualify NEET PG with the prescribed cutoff
Possess a valid MBBS degree from an NMC-recognized institute
Completion of one-year compulsory internship
Valid Medical Registration (NMC / State Medical Council)
Fulfill category and domicile criteria for State Quota counselling
Only NEET PG-qualified candidates are permitted to register and participate.
Conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), AIQ counselling covers 50% Government PG seats, deemed universities, central institutions, and ESIC colleges. It is open to candidates from all states, with seat allotment strictly based on All India Rank (AIR).
State quota counselling is conducted by respective state counselling authorities and includes 50% Government PG seats along with private medical colleges. State-specific domicile and reservation policies apply to determine eligibility.
Counselling rules, eligibility criteria, and schedules may vary across states. Candidates must carefully follow official state and MCC notifications to avoid missing deadlines or seat allotment opportunities.
Candidates must qualify NEET PG and secure the category-wise cutoff percentile to become eligible for counselling.
Registration is completed on the MCC portal for All India Quota counselling and on respective state counselling portals.
Uploaded documents such as academic records, internship details, and medical registration certificates are verified by the counselling authority.
Candidates select and lock their preferred colleges and MD/MS/Diploma branches. This is one of the most critical stages of counselling.
Seat allotment is conducted through multiple rounds including Round 1, Round 2, and Mop-up rounds based on merit and availability.
Candidates can accept the allotted seat or opt for upgradation in the next counselling round, as per eligibility.
Admission fees and security deposits must be paid within the specified timeline to confirm participation or seat acceptance.
Candidates must report to the allotted medical college with original documents to complete admission formalities.
Vacant seats remaining after regular rounds are filled through the mop-up round for eligible candidates.
Final remaining seats are allotted as per official stray vacancy guidelines issued by the counselling authorities.
